September 30, 2009 Durango, CO. - The Fort Lewis College Golf team recently competed in the NSIC/RMAC Regional Crossover Tournament earlier this week and came away with impressive results in the three round tourney. Out of the 17 teams, the Skyhawks swung their way into 6th place. The tournament consisted of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and schools from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
Fort Lewis had team total of 939 (314,318,307) and placed three of their golfers in the top 25. Devin Schreiner led the way for the Skyhawks with an individual score of 233 (78, 79, 76) which landed him in 12th place of the 83 golfers. Behind him was Gavin Lyons shooting a (234 (77, 80, 77) for 16th place. Michael Adams finished in 21st place with a score of 236 (77, 84, 75).
The Skyhawks next tournament will be their last tournament of the fall which will take place in Goodyear, AZ on October 4th-6th in the Grand Canyon Invitational.
